50 years Laser World of Photonics

June 27 – 30, 2023 Messe München

Exactly 50 years ago, today’s world’s leading trade fair for photonics components, systems and applications was held for the first time under the name LASER 73. NTG is celebrating its 55th anniversary this year and we are looking forward to presenting our latest technology in ion beam processing to you again this year.

Achieving excellence through suitable manufacturing technology for optics – we push the limits!

NTG supports employee on the way to a world record

As an electrical engineering student at Fulda University of Applied Sciences, Marcel Paul, who is currently completing his dual studies at NTG, has chosen a very special case study:

Together with a fellow student, he is building an electric Bobby-Car that can reach speeds of over 100 km/h. In cooperation with the Record Institute for Germany, the young pilots will conduct a world record attempt with this vehicle at the beginning of August 2023.

The target of the project is the conception and realisation of an electric Bobby-Car as a prototypical, compact complete vehicle. In addition to the construction of the lightweight chassis, the focus is particularly on the integration of an emission-free, efficient and fast drive system.

In this video you can see the design phase and production in our company, as well as the first test run:

We wish the young scientists every success with their record attempt!

New assembly building for the manufacturing of large IBF systems

Due to increasing order volume for our IBF systems, an expansion of the spatial capacities was inevitable. We therefore decided to invest in the construction of a new assembly building at the end of 2021.

The new building with a total area of 565 m² and a ceiling height of 10 meters was built in a record time. For this, we would like to express our appreciation to all the companies involved and especially their diligent employees.

Prior to equipping the building with two 25-ton cranes and further equipment in the upcoming weeks, we duly inaugurated it at our company christmas event.

A special highlight was the performance of our newly formed in-house NTG band. After 2 years of abstinence from festivities, the musical background and the delicious food provided a cheerful end of the year.

We wish you and your families a relaxing Christmas season and a great beginning of the upcoming year!

NTG at OPTATEC 2022

For more than 30 years, NTG has been involved with ion beam fuguring systems for the production of ultra-precise freely defined optical surfaces. The editable diameters of the optics range from 0.5 mm – 2000 mm and enable the market for micro-optical components as well as astronomical applications and EUV/X-Ray optics with highest demands on roughness and shape accuracy. We are IBF experts beyond the state of the art. This year we received the order for our 100th IBF system.

Our experts in ion beam figuring, research and development will be happy to tell you how we can also realize your innovative ideas.
